The traveling exhibition “KriegsEnden. Woran wollen wir uns halten?” is a joint project of the IdGL (PD Dr. Daniela Simon), the Institute for the Cultural Studies of Germans in Eastern Europe (IKDE), as well as partner institutions in Emmendingen (Municipal Museum) and Ulm (DZM).
At its core are biographical graphic novel narratives on flight, life in camps, loss, and new beginnings at the end of the Second World War, based on historical sources and archival materials. A particular focus is the story of Rosina Fath, drawn from the IdGL archive, where it is preserved through memories, photographs, and documents; it has been artistically realized by Ludmilla Bartscht.
The modular exhibition combines drawings, texts, historical context, as well as audio and video content, and after its first venue in Emmendingen (June–November 2026) will also be shown in Tübingen, Ulm, and Friedland.
