Olivia Spiridon studied German Studies, Romanian Studies, Psychology, and History in Sibiu (Lizenziat), Passau (Magister), and Heidelberg (Staatsexamen). She completed her doctorate at the University of Passau with an overview of German-language narrative literature from Romania after 1945. Subsequently, she taught at various institutions, including the Goethe Institute in Mannheim/Heidelberg. Since November 2008, she has been a research associate at the Institut für donauschwäbische Geschichte und Landeskunde in Tübingen, where she oversees the research area Deutschsprachige Literaturen und kulturelle Interferenzen im Donauraum (German-Language Literatures and Cultural Interferences in the Danube Region) and is responsible for the institute's publication series. Since 2009, she has also been a lecturer at the German Department of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen.
